Nine counties in eastern Oregon have voted yes to join Idaho since 2020, and two more counties in northeast Oregon, Morrow and Wallowa, are also set to vote on the proposal soon. The addition of eastern Oregon to the Gem State is just the first phase of the proposal. The second phase would see Greater Idaho spread into northeast California, where the movement claims that residents identify closer to Idaho ideologies based on voter trends.

If this were to happen, it’s critical that all of Northern California , north of Ukiah break off to give the new red state access to the Pacific so new ports could be built to break the California / Washington union longshoreman stranglehold.
Way ahead of ya.
Greater Idaho would need a costal county and so far 2 of them, Douglas and Josephine voted against joining Idaho. Makes sense. Costal elites. Perhaps ther’d be a need to force them into joining-could lead to California surrendering the port city of Eureka/Arcata. Underutilized. It’s the future-economic growth-kryptonite to the left.
Far fetched? The longest journey starts with a single step. I say jump start it with the idea of Hawaiian secession. Eyebrows get raised. Natives get restless-demand their power back. It happened in Fiji. Democrats used black militancy to their advantage. We can do the same and our motives would be altruistic. Before black militants the military wing of the democrat party was the KKK. Rather than give orders to the Hawaiians we just need to push their button. They have hearts too and restoring the monarchy would tap into those emotions, just like the rats.
Throw gasoline on the fire. Call for Puerto Rican independence.
An even better prospect might be for eastern Washington to join with eastern and southern Oregon and leave two rumps in western Washington and northwest Oregon.
Push Oregon west, and combine what remains into a single Blue state of Washigon.

Yes, what’s left of Washington and Oregon should combine into one state. That would push blue Senators down by up-to two.
For that matter, maybe the eastern parts of those states shouldn’t join Idaho. Idaho would get more congressmen, but we wouldn’t gain more Senators. I think eastern WA and OR should become their own state. Maybe Udaho.
A half century ago, Eureka / Arcata was a thriving port with redwood logs being destined for the globe being a prime cargo. The salmon fishing and canning industries thrived... and then the Coho Salmon and Spotted Owl were declared endangered in the ‘70’s.
Humboldt County now grows a lot of weed and is (per capita) the receiver of more welfare money than any other county in Kali.
Thanks for the history lesson.
BTTT.
My idea: Restore the Hawaiian monarchy. Give the natives back the power. They’ll demand secession and then left loses 2 senators.
And would quickly become a Chinese colony.
Instead of merging half of Oregon with Idaho, create a new state. That would give us two more conservative Senators.
2) If the Republicans get control in 2024, then they make these 9 Counties their own state (with the blessing of Idaho)
3) Other counties in California & Washington then break off a join the new state.
This is getting closer to reality.
That would be ideal but Article 3 of the Constitution says
"New states may be admitted by the Congress into this union; but no new states shall be formed or erected within the jurisdiction of any other state; nor any state be formed by the junction of two or more states, or parts of states, without the consent of the legislatures of the states concerned as well as of the Congress".
So to form a New State Oregon and Congress would have to agree.
But Article 3 (nor anything else) prevents a portion of a state from breaking off and joining another one. So it would be much easier to join Idaho first, then break off later if the Republicans gain control of congress (I'd assume Idaho would have no problem letting them go).
Correction
Make that ARTICLE IV, SECTION 3 of the Constitution
Thanks, we voted for that, and still haven’t checked the election results. DH stopped getting the weekly local paper a few months ago. I need to see who won the R governor candidate.
I am so surprise, my wretched county voted against. Seth Keshel reported that my county and another one nearby have a lot of election fraud.
