It's low for Cobain. His previously sold guitar -- a 1959 Martin D-18E with a Bartolini pickup kluged into the soundhole and played upside down -- sold for over $6 million in 2020.

I owned and gigged with a 65 Mustang. Its a nice, well made instrument that’s easy to play but it had a delicate vibrato and the stock pickups were a bit weak. It was basically an upgraded Duo-Sonic.

How many guitars did he have. I was at the museum in Seattle and they displayed a bunch of smashed up pieces of the “historic guitar” he played. And sweaters galore.
