The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention mentioned that two people who traveled to Nigeria in 2021 were diagnosed with monkeypox. You will mostly find the disease in Central and West Africa. However, other cases have been reported in Europe, the UK, and some other parts worldwide. The cases are related to animals that have been imported or on international travel.
Spain has already reported 7 Monkeypox cases and is investigating 22 more cases currently. Montreal is seeing 17 cases being investigated, and Italy, too, has confirmed the first case. Dr. Vivek Murthy, US Surgeon General, stated that there is no need to be alarmed as cases are being reported in the UK in people who have no known contact with people with the disease or travel history.
He stated that he does not want people to worry at this time, and the numbers are still very small. Dr. Murthy suggests that people should visit their doctors in case any symptoms arise.
The critical differentiation between monkeypox and smallpox is that monkeypox causes swelling in the lymph nodes. It is followed by a widespread rash on the body, including the palms, soles of the feet, and inside of your mouth.
The poxes are painful and filled with fluid, pearly, and have red circles around them. It takes two to three weeks for it to resolve. There are no particular drugs available in the market for monkeypox, and generally, the treatment is supportive.
There is, however, a vaccine that you can find to stop the development of monkeypox. Experts state that if you come in close contact with an infected person, the virus can spread. Exposure to mucous membranes, broken skin, infected bodily fluids, and respiratory droplets can lead to the development of infection.

And the FDA just approved a new Pfizer drug to treat monkeypox. Hard to believe, isn’t it?
The FDA just expanded the use of TPOXX to include monkeypox as on label use. TPOXX was fully approved four years ago to treat smallpox. So it’s not a new approval only an expansion of on label use. This makes sense since the original smallpox vaccine also prevents and if given soon enough after exposure will treat monkeypox too they are very close in the evolutionary tree.
Also of note monkey pox is not from monkeys it’s from rodents that infected monkey’s which then jumped via them to humans. The last outbreak in the USA was due to rats being imported to the USA which infected prairie dogs that then became exotic pets and infected their new owners. You don’t get monkeypox from humping a monkey you get it from being in contact with an infected monkeys fur,blood,saliva,urine,or fecal matter. Same for the source rodents who are believed to be the source reservoir for the endemic virus in West / central Africa

That pic...pox looks painful. I remember my smallpox vaccination as a young child. It became both itchy and painful as it festered. Don’t want to imagine what monkeypox feels like.

Considering that most of the patients appear to be gay men, no mention in any article about HIV status or CoupFlu vaxx status.
I saw a article that illustrated that some places were using a picture of Shingles and using the same picture with the caption that it was Mon(k)eypox (the “K” is silent...)
Don't know. I figured this article from India might have mentioned Ivr, but there's nothing.
