A 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR 'Uhlenhaut Coupé', always in possession of the auto maker, sold for $143 million at RM Sotheby's!

The auction house's description with many photos - 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR

An unbelievable amount of dosh, it puts it in the top 10 of any item sold at auction.

O Lord, won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz.

It'll be interesting to see how the older Mustangs fare given what 2020 Heritage Edition GT350R's are fetching now. This livery, offered only in 2020 on the GT350 and GT350R, is the most common of all those made from 2015-2020.

Every week a low mileage GT350R is selling on bringatrailer for $150k-$170k.

Rising tides lift all boats. In a few years, or maybe months, you may wish you bought that Eleanor.

It's looking like money is being moved to collector cars as other investments sour.

They make great campers out of these type of fleet trucks. I’d like to take one out West to the national parks, comfy enough for a couple nights in the park then you pick up, travel, hotel a few nights and visit another park.

The first car I bought (in 1981) was a 1970 Mustang.
Had a 302 V8 in it. It was blue. I spent a whopping $1600 on it.

I should have taken better care of it and kept it.
But - kids, ya know...

.

Just looked up today's average value of one in 'good' condition:
Only $35,700.

The memories of the drag racing and what-not are worth that to me.
So I guess I did the right thing by beating the crap out of it. (The Fun Value)

It looked like this one -

Mine is an RV that has been west and elsewhere as you describe. There is a cult of Sprinter homebrew RV converters

Here is one day on our trip following the Butterfield trail west from Memphis to San Francisco

Yes, a sleek looking ride, but I'd rather settle my butt in something posher.

The 1935 Mercedes-Benz 540K Spezial Roadster is one I'd consider selling my soul (as charred as it is) for.

Sisters on the Fly

These ladies certainly know how to glamp in their tiny, vintage trailers
