My 2 kitties NEVER have had their paws outside it is to dangerous for them out there!! I live in a very suburban neighborhood on a golf course, my neighbors kitty who was always outside was found on his front lawn ripped to shreds by a coyote!! The coyotes come in from fields because of the water on the golf course!! Kitties don’t NEED to be outside!!!
Agreed. I have three Norwegian Forest cats, one is a kitten not yet 10 months old, and they are strictly indoors as I believe all cats should be.
I also feed birds and you cannot imagine what I have had to endure with a neighbor’s free roaming cat that killed so many birds, one other cat that has disappeared finally. Caught that one on my camera tearing a gorgeous male cardinal to shreds making him suffer as it took its time over a half hour devouring it. I still think about it and wish I’d have seen it live on camera so I may have been able to save it.
My neighbors cat died, yes, as much as I love cats that made me happy, so now I’m down to one cat that is constantly hanging out stalking my birds.
For my neighbor I researched ways to help save the birds and learned outdoor cats kill over 2 BILLION backyard birds a year! Pretty significant number.
Just for fun if you would like to see photos of my cats here’s a link to their Instagram account, @HouseOfMew:

We have a cat who chose to stay indoors after we moved to the country. We have two cats who were born and raised in a barn and who now are happily living in our big shop. They go outside when they want. They are neutered, chipped, have had all their shots and get wormed regularly. There are two of them, litter mates, and they keep an eye out for each other. Our dog has trained them to run really fast and to go up trees. They take care of the mice and rats on our farm which is why they are domesticated in the first place. We live on a road where rush hour consists of about five cars.
I have 5 inside cats and 1 outside. The outside cat hates her own species and refuses to associate with other cats. We tried for 2 years and she would literally starve rather than come out of her room and eat.
Had to feed her and put a liter box in the one room and it still didn’t work. Put her outside and she is a happy happy kittie.
