The US Constitution has always been dead to democrats it’s was why the party was formed.
Karl Marx nods
Yeah, I go along with that one. On that date I posted the Certifigate Postmortem

First, consider that President George Washington, regardless that he had been President of the Constitutional Convention, evidently didn't have a good grip on the federal government's constitutionally enumerated limited powers. (I can imagine that some of the convention debating bored Washington to death, correction welcome.) He consequently signed bills that unconstitutionally expanded the federal government's powers imo.
For example, regardless that the delegates to the Constitutional Convention had decided against giving Congress the specific power to regulate INTRAstate banking for example, confused Washington caved to pressure from traitor Alexander Hamilton and signed unconstitutional, Hamilton-inspired national bank bill into law anyway.
"It is known that the very power now proposed as a means was rejected as an end by the Convention which formed the Constitution. A proposition was made to them to authorize Congress to open canals, and an amendatory one to empower them to incorporate. But the whole was rejected, and one of the reasons for rejection urged in debate was, that then they would have a power to erect a bank, which would render the great cities, where there were prejudices and jealousies on the subject, adverse to the reception of the Constitution [emphasis added]. — Jefferson's Opinion on the Constitutionality of a National Bank : 1791
The point is that Democrats and RINOs, like Hamilton, are arguably lawless street bullies that have existed since the fall of man, the biblical “wolves in sheep's clothing.”
Regarding our constitutional republic, Democrats early on seized the opportunity to exploit voters who had only heard rumors, gossip and hearsay about the federal government's constitutionally limited powers imo.
“Cherish, therefore, the spirit of our people, and keep alive their attention. If once they become inattentive to the public affairs, you and I, and Congress and Assemblies, judges and governors, shall all become wolves. It seems to be the law of our general nature.” - Thomas Jefferson (Letter to Edward Carrington January 16, 1787)
The bottom line is that, although we do have a better life than ancestors did imo, although many of us are descended from former peasants, we still not only think like peasants in some ways, but have allowed the wolves to steal our so-called constitutional republic, turning it into on ongoing train wreck imo.
Insights welcome.
The 16th (Income Tax) and the 17th (elections of Senators) Amendments certainly changed the government from one that was of, by, and for the people to one that was against them.
Those amendments are part of the Constitution as much as the 1st or the 2nd are. If you dont like them, seek a constitutional convention or a repeal amendment.
No, the income tax is repugnant to the Constitution and just like the 18th Amendment (banning the manufacture or sale of alcohol in the United States), it's invalid.

Or 20 January 2009.
Yep.

Really since the very start of the republic.
They've been weaponizing government against Republicans ever since.

It is valid until and unless it is repealed. You either uphold the constitution or you don’t.
When the Republicans freed their slaves.
We're talking about Roe v. Wade where the Judiciary made law, completely stepping outside their authority. The Supreme Court, charged with upholding the Constitution instead outright violated it.
Democrats declare "sanctuary cities" and actively aid an illegal alien invasion.
Both parties conspired to allow Obama and Harris sit as President and Vice-President despite not being natural born citizens.
Government 3 letter agencies regularly spy on citizens without warrants as required by the 4th Amendment.
States regularly violate the 2nd Amendment, restricting our outright removing the inalienable right to keep and bear arms.
The Feds violate double jeopardy, charging cops with violations of "civil rights" for crimes they were acquitted of or grand juries voted "no bill" for.
Obamacare violated the 13th Amendment, forcing Americans into involuntary servitude for the right to breathe.
Government has seized property under eminent domain, describing increased financial output as cause "for public use", equating it to land for a defensive border, a bridge, dam, etc.
There are currently more than 100 January 6th protestors who have been denied bail and are subjected to cruel and unusual punishment in violation of the 8th Amendment.
Etc.
Actually it begin before the Constitution was ratified. The only reason the democrats accepted it was after it was adjusted to allow them to keep slaves. They have fought against the Constitution ever since.
1861
That’s the truth, we haven’t lived by the constitution since. They bring it out anytime it’s convient though. The federal govt doesn’t have the power it used in 1861 and hasn’t been held in check since. Big govt, big taxes to big corporations. Was that the design of the constitution? I don’t think so.

The smarter founders warned about the dangers of big govt. Unfortunately those that put money first have prevailed and our freedoms out the door.
Every president who took office after FDR had a federal government that was substantially more powerful than the federal government was in the 18th or 19th century. No president could change that. Trump didn’t change that and didn’t try. It’s not a question of being progressive. Everybody who takes office lives in the world the progressives Wilson and FDR created.
True
Reagan and Trump have worked to reverse the Progressive order, to some extent.
Trump's Supreme Court picks have a chance to move the needle.
Roe v. Wade, New York Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen, these well be telling decisions in the next six weeks.
Since at last as far back as the Wilson administration.
The 19th didn’t help...
