In reality, remember this is Ukraine, supply the guns and some will be sold on the black market and others will be involved in friendly fire accidents.
Of course, the Democrats and their media will ignore these issues and, if something can’t be ignored, will blame Putin and Russians in general.
Now, why don’t we send some diplomats to Ukraine and Russia to work out a deal for a cease-fire?
The U.S. government has that power and it would save us from paying billions to Ukraine and worse.
Ukraine has quite a lot of trained gunners, just not on this particular system. IIRC it had at least 30 artillery battalions prewar, to which you can add a bunch of reservists.
And also IIRC Ukraine has been sending men abroad to train, probably these are serving artillerymen for conversion training.
As for negotiations, thats going to happen when both sides are ready and not before. None of that works otherwise. Russia still seems to have hopes of creating favorable facts on the ground, and now so also does Ukraine. Maybe in another month.
