Phil Mickelson will not defend his title in next week's US PGA Championship at Southern Hills, tournament organisers have announced. Mickelson has been taking a break from golf since the fall-out from his explosive comments about the PGA Tour and the Saudi-backed breakaway [Tour] spearheaded by Greg Norman.

>>In an interview with the author of a forthcoming biography, Mickelson admitted he was well aware of Saudi Arabia’s “horrible record on human rights”, including the murder of Washington Post reporter Jamal Khashoggi, but was using the threat of a breakaway to “reshape” how the Tour operates.

Oh please, they’re bringing up Khashoggi to attack Phil? Things are done differently in the totalitarian Middle East. After Bush’s wars there, people still haven’t figured this out? But we’re headed down that path, ask the J6 political prisoners.

And Khashoggi was a Muslim Brotherhood political/intelligence operative using “journalist’ as a cover with the help of the WaPost. Convince me otherwise. He was inelegantly dealt with by the Saudis in Turkey. The Turks have done worse to real journalists, yet are still our NATO allies. But sure, let’s slam the Saudis, because the DC regime is Iran-friendly.

Good luck to Greg Norman from what I can see, but I don’t follow golf closely. No one seems to be taking a knee, so there is that.

I like Phil as a golfer but he has a load of problems, mostly because of his gambling addiction.

When a person loses $40 Million dollars gambling, it not a pass time it's an addiction.

I researched Khashoggi's editorial career with WaPo.

He wrote 22 columns from September 2017 to September 2018.

The titles of 19 of those columns reference Saudi Arabia, and all of them were critical of the country or the Royal Family.

Here is the title to one column that was not about Saudi Arabia...

"The U.S. is wrong about the Muslim Brotherhood - and the Arab world is suffering for it"

Most of those white guys look like they spend WAY too much time at the "19th Hole."

A few years ago at the US Open, Phil Michelson chased down his ball after hitting a bad putt and stopped it from rolling off of the green. After a night of deliberating, the USGA officials decided to let him get away with it. The game of golf didn’t.

The truth won’t be tolerated in the PGA. Without Lefty it is a boring round of golf.

Jamal Khashoggi was a terrorist. The Washington Post embraced Khashoggi in order to protect a terrorist. When Obama murdered Usama Ben Laden were we supposed to condemn the United States as a murderous regime?

No.
PGA = United States Professional Golfers Association.
Tournament has never been played outside of the United States.

You are correct, the PGA tournament has never been played outside of the United States.

Here's a link that addresses the age old question "What’s the difference between the PGA of America and the PGA Tour?"

PGA of America or PGA Tour

What I find interesting is that PGA Europe owns the trademark for "PGA". Here's a link to their web site:

PGA

I had always heard it called the PGA (not the US PGA).

If you don’t know the difference between the PGA and USGA, that’s ok. The internet can teach anyone who’s willing to spend a few minutes to look up both organizations and what they do.
