Hotel staff called authorities around 9 a.m. Friday morning with a report that a guest had been found unresponsive in one of the beachfront hotel’s villas, according to the Royal Bahamas Police Force.
Police found the man lying on a bedroom floor with no sign of trauma. He was pronounced dead by a local doctor, police said.
Police were then directed to a second villa where a man was found slumped against a bathroom wall, also unresponsive. An unresponsive woman was found on a bed, police said.
They both showed signs of having suffered a convulsion, but no trauma, and were pronounced dead, police said.
The couple complained of feeling sick the previous night, and had been treated at a local medical facility before returning to the hotel, according to police, who said they were waiting for autopsy reports to determine the causes of death.
Dr. Michael Darville, the Bahamas health minister] said the guests who sought treatment Thursday suffered from nausea and vomiting. And the fourth guest also sought treatment at a clinic before being taken to a hospital, he said.
Darville, in an earlier account, was quoted as saying that a doctor Thursday recommended the sick visitors be airlifted off of Exuma, but they refused. He said the dead tourists were believed to be in their 60s.

Also another trick when you hit a port is take a large water bottle in your backpack, buy some vodka and fill ‘er up....any search getting back on the boat it looks like a bottle of water.
My son and DIL spent their honeymoon at a resort in Bimini. He ate the fish and got food poisoning. They’ll never go back.
10,000 for a couple for on week?! I can’t think they’d have illegal alcohol when they’ve got that kind of money to spend. Really?
I remember a wealthy family, husband, wife, both doctors and their two teenage sons rented a vacation condo.....Bahamas?
The next morning the husband and sons were near death....paralyzed....and the wife very sick
I do and I did! :)
Maybe they didn’t expect the bottle to have poisoned alcohol in it. Maybe they paid for the normal “good” stuff. Who knows? Maybe that wasn’t even what killed them.
if a hotel does not pay off the local thugs
the guests start having health issues
Or a guy on the autism spectrum who can’t understand what happened to his erstwhile career in England, but well, scenery ...
Anoreth and the deck crew got food poisoning in Indonesia.
I remember that! It was too much bug extermination fumes.
FINALLY somebody got it!
I brought the wine bottles, too.
On my last 2 week cruise I did the unlimited booze deal @ 1/2 price. Oh lordy, never again.... I don’t drink anywhere near that much.
Great idea with the water bottle.

It was the salmon mousse.

You know where that's from...?
