Although I am not a fan of CIA Director George HW Bush, I think he was (somewhat) of an old school politician. Maybe.

We have had 30 years of remarkably bad presidents. Trump was an obvious exception, but the US government clearly opposed him and did not want us to have a good, patriotic president.
Something is seriously wrong with our political class.
It was GHW Bush who devised the Bush Plan for North Mexico (aka USA) as the only path to the New World order.
The citizens of the USA and their sovereignty were in the way.
He knew we would never vote to surrender our country to the UN, so he set about to import people who would.
Every President after him followed the same plan until we elected Trump to stop it.
Both parties colluded to cheat Trump out to get that plan on track again.

John Mearsheimer agrees with you. He lumps them together as the bipartisan “Global Dominance” wing of American politics. They shared/share a vision of America dominating the world after the fall of the USSR as if we are the modern Rome. Other countries aren’t real happy with that plan.
