A similar prank occurred at my alma mater, Whittier High School. Just before our game with El Rancho High School in Pico Rivera, Calif., a dead chicken was found hanging on the campus with a sign on it reading "Chandler"--an obvious reference to our quarterback Bob Chandler. Though Chandler would lead the Whittier Cardinals to a winning season and become a future star for the USC Trojans, the El Rancho Dons prevailed that night, 48-0--and would go on to be considered the best high school football team in the USA that year.

Had two friends who knew another guy’s locker combination and went to school on a Saturday and filled his locker with already day old squid.

Come Monday morning the custodians had cut the lock off it and dumped it into a trash can.

“We are currently investigating this with the St. Johns “County Sheriff’s Office. This is a serious matter and any students who are involved will be dealt with in accordance of a Level 4 offense in our student code of conduct,” said Christina H. Upchurch, chief of community relations for the district, in a statement.

Level 4 offenses could include suspension, placement in an alternative school, or expulsion, as well as potential criminal charges, according to the district’s Code of Conduct.”

Gone are the days where the perps would have been put on Cafeteria and grounds cleaning duty for a month and have to endure being humiliated in front of their peers.
