So we are going to “go green”. Ruin our economy and businesses to “save the planet” while Russia, China and India are burning fossil fuels at alarming rates and have no plan to stop for the sake of “the planet”. Exactly how is destroying ourselves save the planet this way? We plunge ourselves into darkness while the rest of “the planet” keeps using fossil fuels. As my father used to say, “How dumb can you be”? Of course he never came across the biden admin.

He must have delivered that text at the rate of a commercial disclaimer. No way otherwise to cram it into 2 minutes. Good points, though, lost on a large rabble of emotional fools.

You do not just “flip a switch” and have elec. It is made using fossil fuels.

Also, are they ready to give up everything made of plastic? How about giving up cell phones. Also making those batteries for EV’s uses earths mineral. THEY are mined by children.

Great job dems. No vision and no thought given to the process or the end results.

I guess like zero COVID or zero drugs, NY goes on a Chicom crusade against Carbon.

These people are mortal enemies of the world.

How else do you achieve this other than through utterly hypocrisy and corrupt means...

It’s a racket with a bunch of useful idiots echoing bumper stickers.

Gov spends lavishly. Gov looks for ways to rake in more cash. Any tax, or expense that requires more tax, is something that needs to be sold to the public as needed. When you have such willing folks shouting “thank you may I have another”, the gov is more than happy to comply.

Gov works very hard to bring in more cash and make no effort to cut spending.

We need to be fair to Chinese, I read somewhere they will continue building coal power plants in the next few years, but they have planned to replace coal with nuclear (small modular reactors) by 2060. They are developing next gen of fission plants, that do no require much water for cooling, so they can be built in arid regions.

For zero CO2 emissions, they’d need to eliminate every person in the city or state, and hope nothing catches on fire when there are no people around to put it out.

Works for me.

I wish I could have been there - my speech would be quite brief:

“I’m from another state, and I’m all for this initiative. Eliminating the use of carbon-based fuels in New York by 2030 without destroying the state’s economy and the livelihood of its citizens is a practical impossibility. It’s my hope that when this whole exercise is shown to be a fiasco in 8 years that like-minded people in my state will realize that those in New York have had their collective heads up their collective posterior orifices, and I hope that realization will keep citizens in less-insane states from trying to do something as idiotic.

“Thank you most sincerely for providing the rest of the country with a really stupid and fruitless gesture”.
