Tnis is why you cook up your own... :)

Woke BS
$19 for three tacos? And no sides? NO WAY!
Well, la-de-da...aren’t they special.
That’s ridiculous.
She is a narcissist.
Her worth is only in her head.
I like to make my own tortillas(flour). Super easy and taste better than store bought. Refrieds and rice too.
Food is cheaper making it yourself (Italian, Mexican, Chinese, etc).
*I have not mastered the spring and egg rolls yet but I can make some killer ravioli.
Mexican illegal aliens are a dime a dozen. Three tacos should be $3.
Man, I can get a whole meal for that kind f money at a local mom and pop Tex-Mex joint.
I’m not counting out this place without knowing more or trying it. My ultimate Mexican joint was spendy (relative) and they ended up closing shop because the earnings weren’t there. They had a legitimate menu that was small but their down fall is they didn’t want to deal with the alcohol issues again after moving locations.
I went there for the food, not to get drunk and eat crappy food to fill up.
The purveyors are still around, they make tamales for sale around Christmas that are well sought after.
In my side of the woods I can get a plate of 5 enchiladas, beans, rice and a table side of chips and salsa for $14. And it’s awesome.
“If we as Mexicans refuse to pay the price a Mexican eatery has established in order to operate in a pricey neighborhood and deliver on the quality, then we are signaling to others that they shouldn’t either.”
She has it ass-backwards. The price is not a demand based on the emotions of the vendor. The price is what the market will bear. If her 19 dollar tacos with no sides are worth it, people will be lined up out the door.
If a taco as good or nearly as good is found next door with some rice and beans also for 8 bucks, they will have the line out the door.
And what kind of meat is in that triple taco order for $3?
Not all tacos are equal.
The restaurant industry is getting clobbered as people keep returning to the kitchen to cook for themselves. The cooking videos on social media is destroying restaurants, not to mention what COVID did and inflation is doing.
I’d like Gordon’s opinion on this.

Homemade tortillas are truly the best.
Tacos were peasant food, basic sustenance. They’re not haut cuisine.
I have never been able to get refried beans right. I live in Texas and I’ve been married to two Mexican women, so it’s quite embarrassing.
“And what kind of meat is in that triple taco order for $3?”
Sorry CodeToad but I was curious too. lol
If these are traditional Carne Asada tacos they are probably big and soft shelled, and stuffed full with sliced beef or pork.
If so, It makes them worth at least $3.00 each. When they only charge a buck for something similar you DO have to question what is in them.

The cheapest cuts you can find and they are delicious. If they are putting rib-eye and blue cheese with farm to table arugula and on a blue corn tortilla, you no longer have Mexican food. A Mexican restaurant down by me has $40 dishes of fancy Mexican fare where wealthy Texicans eat. Beautiful dining room, impeccably dressed wait staff and a great atmosphere.
It was rated the worst restaurant in San Antonio.
