He probably wasn’t interested. He has a great TV show, and a great life. He makes a boatload of money, but not more than Hannity. That will change with his next contract.
He actually subbed for Clay and Buck for a week over the Holidays, so he’s picked up some national notice. He does five hours of radio a day and I’m lucky if I get to hear one of them in a day. I don’t want to oversell him but I think folks would like him if they could hear his show.
I am certain I saw many articles here that Tucker was good friends with Hunter and the Biden’s. Rush can never be replaced but there must be others better suited to fill his slot.

Radio isn’t being displaced by TV. It’s being displaced by on-demand audio content like MP3 music and podcasts.

Sorry — I was wrong. Rush WAS on live across the country, but some local stations preferred to air him on tape delay to ensure a 12:00 start no matter what time zone they were in. So it wasn’t unusual to hear his show starting two hours “late” at 12:00 in Mountain Time if you were driving across the country.
I like Tucky but unless he has stopped going into near-histrionics and gets off of Fox, I’m not going to start watching him again.
I found his “clueless” expression when he’s talking to a liar very funny ... but I got tired of that too.
Rush never hung around with Hunter Biden (or any of those demons).
If there’s going to be another Rush, we’ll hear about him. We can’t really pick him.
Those hours worked for Rush because people listened at work. He was on desks and in shops all over the country.
The only thing that rated higher at my wife’s station was the Red Sox.
I think we’re at the point now where there will be a thousand Rushes (sort of), not one.

I became an avid talk radio listener when I would “burn the midnight oil” as a college student. I later got to meet a number of notable personalities in the radio business when I worked for a company located in the same building as one of the largest talk radio stations in the U.S.
Tucker writes his stuff and then reads it on TV. Reading something and not sounding like you are reading is a gift. Tucker is pretty good.
Rush was the best at it. But Rush never read his own writing, he read what others wrote, then eloquently and artfully added his signature commentary with talent on loan from God.

Rush was on for the full three hours on both days. It was great. As I drove across Ohio and Indiana I had this idea in my mind of two kinds of typical listener to his show: a retiree listening to the show while it was broadcast in a small-town diner, and a farmer listening in the cab of his tractor during that spring planting season.

Not enough money on the table? O’Shannity does three hours on radio and three hours on the boob-tube. So it can be done.
