Trump went with Federalist society recommendations, but I also recall that this society supported John Roberts, so nothing is 100%. It should have been a red flag when Roberts denied his Federalist Society membership during the confirmation hearings.

It’s not yet certain that these three Trump appointments will ultimately rule against Roe, and definitely not yet clear how consistently conservative their views on the Constitution will be in the years ahead. But it is clear that had Hillary won in 2016, we would be in a helluva lot more trouble as a nation than we are now.

Roberts had few red flags at the time. In fact, Anthony Kennedy looked like a slam dunk when he was confirmed. Blackmail? Extortion? Seeking human respect? Some or all of the above? Who knows?

Roberts has been consumed with “comity” and trying to not upset the customary order of the court. All that crap is out the window now after the “leak” and the near universal leftist support of ending comity and fully upsetting the customary order of the court.
