If you grandson wants to live in a Texas he can get a job with Spacex. I has an offer but my skill set was only needed in Texas or Space Coast Florida. Not many people wanted to move there. Too hot for my blood but some other cohorts moved there (they don’t like living there). If he has skills in aerospace he can easily get a job if he is willing to move.
