Russia Threatens to Nuke Britain, France, and Germany

Russia threatened a dramatic escalation of its war in Ukraine Thursday when Russia’s Channel One featured a video depicting Russian missiles reaching Berlin, Paris, and London.

According to the UK’s Express, Channel One’s 60 Minutes program, one of the most popular TV shows in Russia, featured “the chairman of the nationalist Rodina party, Aleksey Zhuravlyov,” who “suggested Russia could launch a Sarmat missile attack on the UK.” This was not, however, Zhuravlyov’s eccentric view: “Producers then cut to a map of Kaliningrad and seemed to suggest that missiles could be launched from the Russian enclave between Poland, Lithuania and the Baltic Sea.”

Zhuravlyov declared: “One Sarmat [missile] and that’s it – the British Isles are no more.” The show’s cohost, Evgeny Popov, responded: “No one will survive in this war when you propose the strike with a Sarmat. Do you understand that no one will survive? No one on the planet.” Zhuravlyov, however, was undeterred, saying optimistically that “we’ll start with a blank slate,” and boasting that Russian missiles “can’t be intercepted. Their abilities are limited. They say they can shoot it down, we’ll see about that.”

The show’s other host, Popov’s wife Olga Skabeyeva, then added: “Sarmats are not in Kaliningrad yet. From Kaliningrad to Berlin is 106 seconds, from Kaliningrad to Paris is 200 seconds. You’re interested in London, 202 seconds to London.” Zhuravlyov responded happily: “They need to be shown this picture. ‘Guys, look at this picture — count the seconds, can you make it? Hello, it’s already here.’ That’s the way. Let them think about it. Get a stopwatch, count [to] 220 seconds. That’s how you talk to them, they don’t understand anything else.”

Back in the 1960s Chairman Mao used to bluster about how the Chinese could win a nuclear war. Their population was so large that they would still be around when all the rest of the world would be dead. And then they could start with a blank slate to build socialism for the workers and peasants with no rotten capitalism around to spoil things.

Throw in the set of The View,Streisand’s house, and Rob Reiner and we’d have a deal.

Russia can only deal with NATO by either acting like a civilized country, going to war, or surrendering.

Anything else is not an option.

Right when I see all these nuke stories I know it is not by accident they are flooding out. If means the Russians are very, very concerned that things are going to keep going badly for them and get worse and they want a way out. Too bax for them their bluff is being called.

And it will be sooner if we don’t stand up and look like we mean business. The number of Neville chamberlains here that think we can stick our heads in the sand to make Putin go away is appallingly scary.

Democrats were talking about Nuking conservatives in the US after last election. Perhaps we should deal with them first?

China has 90% of their population concentrated in 15% of their territory. A nuclear war would virtually eradicate them and they know it.

Just more bluster like this flaccid and tiresome bleating from the Soviets.

The Russian government will choose a armament response that is highly damaging, but somewhat justifiable and not likely to lead to a greater counter response.

This target will not be in a NATO country. The Russians may chose to just threaten, if likely to be effective.

For national security reasons and to not have federal agents at my door, I can’t be specific.

The Russians are making their plans, with great care and patience. Mamy Russian soldiers have been burnt to death and blown to pieces by Western weapons - expect retaliation. It may not be claimed as such and may not appear as such.

The supply chain to Kaliningrad must be a really rocky road, passing as it does through nations not at all friendly to the Russian Federation. Even the air space does not seem to be that reliable. Where would the Russians ship from, Vladivostok?
