"My Love from the Star" is a Korean drama about the frustrations of being a storm-tossed actress in love with a Superman-like alien who has to go back to his star or die.
At first I was afraid, I was petrified.
Kept thinking I could never live without you by my side.
But then I spent so many nights thinking how you did me wrong,
And I grew strong and I learned how to get along
And so you’re back from outer space.
I just walked in to find you here with that sad look upon your face.
I should have changed that stupid lock,
I should have made you leave your key.
If I’da known for just one second you’d be back to bother me.
Go on now, go, walk out the door, just turn around now,
‘Cause you’re not welcome anymore.
Weren’t you the one who tried to hurt me with goodbye?
You think I’d crumble? You think I’d lay down and die?
Oh no, not I, I will survive.
Oh, as long as I know how to love, I know I’ll stay alive.
I’ve got all my life to live and I’ve got all my love to give,
And I’ll survive. I will survive. Hey, hey.
It took all the strength I had not to fall apart.
Kept trying hard to mend the pieces of my broken heart.
And I spent oh so many nights just feeling sorry for myself,
I used to cry but now I hold my head up high.
And you see me, somebody new,
I’m not that chained-up little person still in love with you.
And so you felt like dropping in and just expect me to be free,
Well, now I’m saving all my lovin’ for someone who’s loving me.
Go on now, go, walk out the door, just turn around now,
‘Cause you’re not welcome anymore.
Weren’t you the one who tried to break me with goodbye?
You think I’d crumble? You think I’d lay down and die?
Oh no, not I, I will survive.
Oh, as long as I know how to love, I know I’ll stay alive.
I’ve got all my life to live and I’ve got all my love to give,
And I’ll survive. I will survive. Oh.
So go on now, go, walk out the door, just turn around now
‘Cause you’re not welcome anymore.
I will survive.
Moral of the story is: Change those locks!

Greatest breakup song EVER!
It’s definitely an ear-worm. It’s going to take days to get it out of my head.
Hate the song. It’s a karaoke favorite for women. Notice that whenever the song plays, bitter, angry, overweight, man-hating women hit the dance floor. Plus, there is always one or two whipped men amongst the women dancing to the song.
I told a friend of mine that he should look around and approach the women sitting, not dancing, while that song is played. Those are the women who are not man haters and who do not feel like victims of men.
The follow-up song but a friend of mine sings is “It’s hard to kiss the lips at night that chew your ass out all day long” by Vince Gill.
Silences the manhaters.
Works well in the movie The Replacements
I adore men and love asian dramas because the shower scenes always show men, not women. If the song wasn’t so drab, I’d be tempted to do all the shower scenes to Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head.
It’s strange, but I never fall in love with a song for the lyrics. It’s not until I want it for a music video that I find out what the singer is saying. I did one entire music video for Star Trek from the Grateful Dead, in the days before lyrics being on the web, thinking the song was about “Hard Times” instead of “High Times.”

Ah... I was gonna post that. I laughed so hard when I first saw that back in the day. I never forgot it.
That was funny. American dramas DO go in for a different aesthetic.

No, thanks.
Well, thanks...you passed it on to me now. 🙀
Maybe this will get it out.
An Arrogant Worms song about an ear-worm.
