Republicans hit at the Biden administration’s new Disinformation Governance Board Friday, arguing that it is an “unconstitutional and unamerican” means of crushing dissent.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis led the charge during a press conference Friday, calling the Department of Homeland Security Counter-Disinformation Governance Board a “Ministry of Truth,” and vowing to fight it.
“You cannot have a Ministry of Truth in this country. We’re not going to let Biden get away with this one. So we will be fighting back,” he said. The Republican was in Willston, Fla. to talk about his administration’s investment of $22 million for infrastructure in Florida.
The recently created disinformation board is being led by Nina Jankowicz, 33, a self-proclaimed “disinformation expert” and Karaoke enthusiast who helped spread the Russia collusion hoax in 2017, and supported the COVID lockdowns in March of 2020. In October of 2020, she called Hunter Biden’s laptop a “product of the Trump campaign.”
“She’s a career left-wing partisan, from her days working at the National Democratic Institute to her Fulbright-Clinton fellowship to her gig at the left-leaning Wilson Center where she routinely did media hits with NPR, CNN, PBS and so on while placing New York Times and Washington Post opeds,” the New York Post opined.

Yeah, for instance... THAT IS NOT the Hunter Biden Laptop, that is all a fabrication of the Russians. Or 5 former CIA Directors swear that the laptop is a Russian hoax, and on and on. Yeah..that is like asking the fox to keep the hens safe in the henhouse.
“Disinformation Expert”
Just what are the qualifications, education, certifications and experience needed to be considered a “disinformation expert”? It is another “in your eye” from Democrats to the American people.
Sometimes I think maybe Trump was playing 4D chess again, letting it happen, knowing that once drunk with power, the Marxists would expose themselves, setting up his chosen successor from his new home state
So am I. Where's the signup sheet?
Does the democrat Ministry carry any penalties for getting something “wrong” on their internet?
I think DeSantis and Trump have a mutual timeline. I also think you and I have no idea what it is. DeSantis could get run over by a Brightline train tomorrow, and FL is still better because of him.
When he does become President, I'll be especially proud because as a Williamsport native, he'll be the first President to have played in the LLWS.
Paging Joseph Goebbels, Herr Goebbels - white courtesy phone !
Where’s Goebbels when Biden needs him most.
Best thing DeSantis could do is rally other Republican Governors and legislatures and start suing the pants off the Fed’s.
Pick up the suit that Tennessee files years ago about forcing the states to pay all the bills for refugees.

Florida Freepers please help. Hoping to move to Wimauma. Dtr, SIL, 3 kids& me. Any suggestions or insight would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Sure it does. For guidance, simply refer to Lavrentiy Beria's maxim, "Show me the man and I'll show you the crime."
Oh, and I doubt the penalties for our "thought crimes" will be as easy to ignore as the behavior that is lampooned here: https://xkcd.com/386/
It's a sad and tragic irony that the man who runs the xkcd site is, in my opinion, a hard-core leftist. That is, I'm pretty sure he's a full-bore "Orange Man Bad" club member.
Thanks God for DeSantis... he'll fight the totalitarian thugs, creeps and their pushy sexual weirdos.
In order to have a “ministry of truth” it must be someone completely proven to be of the truth in every circumstance, so it is better not to start something that can’t be completed. Now, if it were to be a “ministry of untruth” then there are several capable candidates.
By your logic your logic anybody publicly opposing this is running for president.
Joe, when did you join FR? Here’s the thing. You oppose it, I oppose it, do either of us have the public spotlight, the position of governance, or the scrutiny that Desantis has? What you proposed wasn’t a logical argument, but a formal logical fallacy. Doesn’t hold up to scrutiny or reasoning.
