Clearly, it is a shocked reaction. Regardless of how mush of a weasel he is, or is not, the interpretation is pretty straight forward (unless his wife is his lawyer).

I would say clearly the guy is a mediocre actor at best.
And, like with his other performances, no one should buy this one.
