@RepThomasMassie
Bureaucrats in DC shouldn’t be deciding what your children learn at school.
My bill, #HR899, is only one sentence long:
“The Department of Education shall terminate on December 31, 2022.”
(Excerpt) Read more at twitter.com ...
Who said laws need to be complicated?
Can we FINALLY do it this time?!!!
Maybe next year, maybe
All theater- Biden won’t sign that.
Could not agree more.
Both houses are under dem control until at least Jan 2023 so it would never even make it to Joe. Kind of disappointing to see Massie of all people playing that stupid repub game.

I think it is a great move. With the wars the parents of students in the public education system are fighting with the school boards, Massie’s statement and proposed bill will add fuel to the fire.
We all know it isn’t going anywhere, but it will make a great campaign ad.
well at least he is in the conversation.
I’d like to see similar bills for agencies not specified in the Constitution, such as Energy.
This is the kind of thing that the GOP should pledge to pass.
Energy, DEA, FBI, CIA, DHS, TSA, any agency not connected to the 18 enumerated powers of Congress.
Central planners love complex laws and regulations. It hides grift and social-engineering so well
And Congress can’t override a pocket veto, IIRC.
“The Department of Education shall terminate on December 31, 2022.”
Great start. How about reversing JFK’s executive order allowing Government Employees to unionize next?
yup...
The size of government (at every level) is the REAL Obesity epidemic in this and most other countries. Eliminating large portions of government needs to be done if we wish to save our nation and insure prosperity for our future (legal) generations. Candidates that promise to do this should be supported over any other.
It should have been terminated long ago. Reagan wanted to but just could not get it done. Too much blowback.
Nothing can be done until we get a conservative back as President.
Even with both Houses, Biden will veto it.
Nice idea however.
