101 was fun, it has much more character, Madonna Inn for one.
I’ve never been there. The pics online look great. A lot of “character” at that place. Such a shame that liberals destroyed the most beautiful state.
San Juan Batista was one of my favorites down there too.

I will always remember Yosemite and Sequoia National Park.
I remember being dumbfounded by the size of the giant Sequoia trees.
We stayed in a nice cabin, and a heard sort of a knock. I opened the door and a racoon was on it’s hind legs with his forepaws out like a beggar. I’ll never forget that.(I was probably 5 or 6)
The more ‘affordable’ neighborhoods are in the north end, north of 4th. We’re about a twenty minute walk to the ocean.
There are some homes here that are relatively inexpensive. There are no real ghettos in Carmel though.
Okay. I’m by Philly, Camden, Chester, and Wilmington...
I’m far enough away to be safe where I live.
Clint’s bar in Carmel was called The Hog’s Breath.
There’s a house on 17 Mile Drive that I think of often, how those lucky dogs get to wake up morning with their spectacular view of the ocean out the back.

Carmel is the opposite of a hellhole.
It’s a incredibly beautiful place.
The view on the ocean half of 17 mile drive is without equal, but it gets pretty wild & wooly out there, weather wise.
Hwy 1 both ways and the same up to Mendocino.
Last time I was there was was on a visit to Pebble Beach right before they celebrated their 100 year anniversary a couple of years ago. With most of the homes so far up from ocean level, how does that weather effect them?
It’s an exposed peninsula. Lotsa sand-blasting wind, ocean spray and FOG.
But Asilomar Beach offers the only surfable waves in the immediate area, so there’s that.
BYW I bartended at the Pro Am this year. Lotsa fun.
