People don’t seem to understand that if things really do not go well for Russia in this war, they WILL pull out the long knives. The longer Ukraine holds out, the more this is going to “leave a mark” on Europe and possibly the rest of the world.
But then what do you suggest?
Ukraine surrender? -- Putin will then assimilate it
Ukraine give up Donetsk and Luhansk? - Putin will take it and after a few years come back for more
Ukraine "de-militarizes" - then Russia invades the next day and no Javelins to stop it
I’m pointing out risks. That’s all I’m doing. Fortunate for me I’m not on the government’s payroll and this decision isn’t up to me.
But based on history I believe this risk is real.
