Hours after Alec Baldwin shot and killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of “Rust,” he whined in a phone call that he didn’t “want to be a public person” anymore and laughed with police, footage released Monday shows.
The video, recorded about three hours after the shooting in a Santa Fe Sheriff’s Office interview room, shows a disheveled Baldwin calling apparent members of his staff to bark orders and gripe about the incident before he speaks with police.
“I’m at the police station .. they’re about to interview me. How is everyone at home? How are the kids?” Baldwin is shown saying in the clip, released Monday by the Santa Fe Sheriff’s Office.
When the person tries to offer a few words of sympathy, Baldwin cuts her off.
“What I am is someone who, I don’t want to do this anymore, I don’t, I don’t want to be a public person,” Baldwin seethes.
“I’m the one holding the gun in my hand and everybody was supposed to have taken care of. They always hand me a cold gun,” he continues before barking a series of questions and ending the conversation.
The actor then calls someone else and said he wanted them to come to Santa Fe as the investigation plays out.
“We’ll just spend the time here … We’ll go and enjoy ourselves,” Baldwin says.

“No, we’re just interviewing … It’s just a formality, we have to do it,” they said in response.

This is a laughing matter.
The officers were having a gay old time.
Not sure, I did watch the video.
There was Flintstone, or Rubble that I saw.

These news outfits are showing pictures of the woman he killed as she lies dead or dying with the medics working on her. They need to knock that off.
He’s part of this, obviously.
The armorer is the one responsible for the weapons on set. She is responsible.
She should never have been the armorer on this picture. She had problems with weapons on her prior production.

This guy’s one of the most callous individuals I’ve ever seen.
Simple answer... Baldwin did not follow safety protocols when he FAILED to check the weapon.
He’s the one who was in control of the gun, whether it was loaded or unloaded.
We were taught to never aim a real gun at a person even if we KNEW it was unloaded or inoperable
Just how my friends and I were taught by our elders
Every person that handles a gun is responsible for determining it’s condition whether it’s loaded or unloaded.
Baldwin did not do that. The gun had been used on set for live fire practice. Did that happen while he was on set? Was Baldwin deaf?
Alec, Then get a job in construction or retail and donate your money to charity.

If Baldwin is criminally charged (big if) his lawyers will claim by releasing this stuff the Sheriffs office tainted the potential jurors and he can’t get a fair trial.

ANY person handling a gun should NEVER point it at a human unless you have to intent to kill or injure.
ALEC BALDWIN was holding the gun.
Its the armorers responsibility to control the weapons on a set.
She also screwed up on her prior job.
Hes not blameless and neither is she.
I agree, every person that handles that gun is responsible.
The armorer is responsible. So is Alex. And anyone else who cleared thzt gun as safe. But also the armorer has a specific responsibility, its their actual job they are paid for, to ensure weapon safety on the set.
She failed in her job. And she had problems on her immediate prior armorer job.

In many other articles it is stated that she wasn’t even in close proximity of the inside of the set when the shooting took place and some other prop master was the one to hand off the “cold gun”. I’m sure it’s all deliberate spin intended to focus blame away from Arec.

I think Arec will be making a very large donation to Hutchin’s husband and son in the form of settlements.
