What is your favorite song that actually tells a story?

I admit I saw this elsewhere but I thought it might be a good thing to put here because honestly I look and listen to songs people post. I am always entertained and it opens my mind to many different avenues of musical tastes I have not known before. I hope ones like this column.

After 400+ posts the winner so far seems to be “Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald” by Gordon Lightfoot.
Some really good picks out there proving that Freepers are at the tops culturally.

“Taxi” by Harry Chapin.
The absolute first one that came to my mind. And it even has a "Sequel": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bD8sZFe9zxw

Also, his ‘Ballad of St. Anne’s Reel’ That one has a Celtic sound to it, like something from Ireland or the Canadian Maritimes - not quite Bluegrass, but related. Lots of "story songs" come from that variety of "roots music", which explains why Mark Knopfler's song catalog has a lot of mentions upthread.
