I admit I saw this elsewhere but I thought it might be a good thing to put here because honestly I look and listen to songs people post. I am always entertained and it opens my mind to many different avenues of musical tastes I have not known before. I hope ones like this column.
Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald
I like the original version.
Edith Piaf & Les Trois Cloches (the three bells)--Les Compagnons de la Chanson (1946)
Lily, Rosemary, and the Jack of Hearts-Bob Dylan

El Paso
Taxi, yes. That guy with the high voice always amazes me.
“Lying Eyes” by The Eagles Isa fantastic story of loneliness, deception, betrayal, and more.
Sad Song but great story.
I also like “Scenes from an Italian Restaurant”. Poor Brenda (Brender according to Joel’s accent) and Eddie had a rough 1975.
[Ghost] Riders in the Sky - Sons of the Pioneers (and many other versions)
==
Ordinary Human - OneRepublic
==
Funny How Time Slips Away - Billy Walker (and many other versions)
Ace, How Long.
More appropriate with every passing day.
I would add to your Rush list “Cygnus X-1”
Alice’s Restaurant
“Tangled Up in Blue” by Bob Dylan.
Kudos for a classic pick no one mentioned yet!
Lying eyes. I have a friend who married a rich guy. Still married, but it’s not a good one. That song always reminds me of her. It’s basically her story. Marry for love not money.
John Denver!!! That’s great.
Ode To Billy Joe.
Yep.
First album I ever owned.
