White supremacists have claimed ownership over the new Viking Hollywood blockbuster The Northman, which stars Nicole Kidman and Anya Taylor-Joy.
The epic historical film, which has been released nationwide today, is the latest from Robert Eggers (The Witch, The Lighthouse) and a violent revenge tale taken from Viking legends.
However its 'all-white cast', which features famous faces including Alexander Skarsgård and Ethan Hawke, as well as it's 'pure macho stereotypes' have seen the blockbuster championed by supremacists before it was even released.
Posts on Reddit and 4Chan have been celebrating the film, with one 4Chan user writing: 'Robert Eggers. He is restoring pride in our people with his great films. The Northman is going to be epic… Hail Odin.'
Another person commented: 'Northman is a based [agreeable] movie, all white cast and shows pure raw masculinity.'
The connection between white supremacy and an interest in Viking culture is not new.
A number of alt-right terrorists have referenced the medieval period during their attacks in recent years, including Australian Brenton Tarrant, 28, who killed at least 49 people in a Christchurch mosque in 2019 and Jeremy Christian who killed two women in 2017.

Same with Disney's "Frozen" animated feature (the original one). It was in its own way a celebration of Scandinavian/Nordic culture, based on a story by the Dane Hans Christian Andersen. The sequel was "woke" and horrid, about how evil white people were, among other things.
Its on BritBox. I recommend BritBox. Tons of the better Brit stuff. Especially if you like their mysteries.
Macho is not evil. Masculine men and feminine women are not sinful.
And this issue of white supremacists liking the movie is bogus in the least, and a non-issue at its most.
If a movie were made that glorified a group of black people or some other race, it would be hailed by the left a triumph of modern cinema.
Wilson was not a leading man, that is true. He was there to serve as the “sane man” and put-upon son to the zany Redd Foxx and nephew to LaWanda Page, along with the roster of guest characters. In that regard, I think he did just fine as Lamont Sanford - as a supporting character. Had he been more charismatic or “wacky” and played by other stars of the era, such as Cleavon Little (fresh off the failed “Temperatures Rising”) or Richard Pryor (or even Jimmie Walker), it would’ve been a totally different dynamic. S&S, after all, was meant as a vehicle for Foxx.

IIRC, the black queen was from the Mediterranean. The Viking leader, while raiding in the south, married her and brought her back to the North where she became queen upon his death.
Not likely to have happened but it is plausible.
