Our history is chock full of people who weren’t born in this country, but who came here, became Americans, and did great things. Did great things as AMERICANS, in an AMERICAN meritocracy, At least when it used to be.
Dinesh D’Souza is one of those people.
I am appalled by the tone of this conversation on this thread. It is one thing to reasonably and legally maintain that someone should not be able to hold the office of the presidency because they were born in a foreign country, but it is quite another thing to say that someone cannot be an American because they were born in a foreign country.
As far as I’m concerned, that strikes at the very core what makes this country great.
I agree. We shouldn’t be crude to people who want to lawfully immigrate. I was born less than 100 years after my family came to this country. They came here to help rebuild Chicago after the fire, they were carpenters. My young daughter has dual citizenship also. She’s four grades ahead in math.
Don't be. Just ignore the troll (humblegunner) and the thread will be fine.
