The stock was overvalued to begin with, and its value shot up tremendously during the Covid pandemic, where people staying at home signed up to have something to do. Now, people have returned to work and to school, and a lot of them didn’t need the service any more. Then, Netflix’s offerings have been stale for a long time, which also drove viewers/subscribers away.

So, what’s to like.

Wokeness is also a killer policy, but, they’ll never admit it. And the other subscription networks aren’t doing too well either, and it’s going to be hard to bring viewers back. Disney+ is a negative in our household/family, and Prime doesn’t really have much going for it either.

Perhaps it’s time to go back to renting from Red Box.

I also have Prime Video with Amazon Prime and I have used all the free week that each of the add on channels offer to binge watch their offerings and have done it more than once with different IDs. I immediately cancel after signing up for the free period and it stays up until the end of the free period so I don’t have to worry about forgetting to cancel. If for some reason I need more time I sign back up under a different ID, and if I still need more I sign up and pay for one month and again cancel immediately so I don’t forget. You can save a lot if money and get plenty to watch this way while sticking it to the Hollywood lefties.

“The price will come back (Netflix is still making mad cash, growth had to stop eventually) hold until then nothing is lost.”

P/E is 20. If growth has stopped then how do the increase earnings?

They don’t need to increase earnings. In today’s tech market a P/E of 20 pretty awesome. The average for internet companies is almost 84. The whole market average is 90. The modern stock market doesn’t care about PE, nobody is holding stock for earnings, they’re just holding for the next rise. All this has really done is make Netflix a buy, because it will rise.

It’s a waste of money like most of these streaming and subscription services - not to mention you are funding a woke agenda and our own destruction by doing so.

One more thing. If you want to watch HALO the series you can get it on Paramount Plus using a special off of 80 percent off the first three months, thats $2 a mont for three months, which will be long enough to see the whole first season. If you just watch HALO and nothing else its a great deal. Just go to the Paramount Plus web site to sign up and don’t forget to cancel at the end of three months.

I don’t know where you get your data. The S&P 500 foward P/E is 19 with an implied earnings growth of more than 8%.

NETFLIX will absolutely have to grow earnings to increase price.

Exactly. When will companies learn to stay out of politics unless you have a federally supported monopoly.

Public Service Announcement:
When you cancel Netflix, they give choices where you can select why,
including “Other” with a box where “Goodbye Groomers!” can be typed...

Try speaking REAL English with one of them m’effers next time you call a help line for some problem you have with a product of service..... Stinking bunch of scheming USERs.

I would not say it was totally corrupt, but it certainly appeared corrupt.

There are plenty of board members at Twitter who believe that they would make money off Obama produced material and that is what the deal was for but Netflix was just following what has become the new status quo.

The deal was incredibly lucrative beyond any semblance of “market value” and its hard to get past the FACT that Obama and his administration pushed for something that greatly benefited Netflix at the expense of others.

This is our big problem with leftists taking over boards and industry. They tend to “reward” those who help them in government service with cushy positions and lucrative contracts after the people leave “public service”.

Look no further than the military. Most flag officers stay in DC or that area and they take lots of board positions with defense contractors or think tanks that push for government spending. Very few of them are not “rewarded” by the beltway bandits.

The left uses this in other ways as well.... look at how the main actors in the Russian Collusion delusion have been rewarded by leftists organizations with high paying jobs that require very little effort (McCabe, Comey, Page, etc etc).

Look at our embassy staff - state dept, CIA, and FBI, in the Ukraine. Guess who many of them work for now....

Soros. While they were on staff there we pumped a lot of taxpayer funds to Soros NGO’s in the Ukraine. Who pushed for that? The same people who now have cushy jobs working for his umbrella of NGO’s.

Same thing happens in the Dept of Treasury and Fed Reserve. The “public service” positions have become a revolving door between the biggest banks/investment groups like JP Morgan, Chase, Goldman Sachs, etc as an executive to a few years of “public service” (regulating those companies) and then they go back to the private side for stock options and lucrative contracts.

Same thing happens in our intel community. Rise in the ranks there and you are guaranteed a very high paying job with the private contractors that our intel community now uses OR private think-tanks that dictate much of our spending.

Same thing for the FDA, CDC, and other health agencies....

Pretty much every SES level bureaucrat can get a high-paying job on the private side in the same field or for the same “team”.

semi-interesting article ... not a word about the woke dreck inundating netflix

and then there’s this:

“It plans on introducing a new, cheaper subscription to the masses that will include ads at frequent intervals. “

ads on ANYTHING is the kiss of death for me ... i REFUSE to watch any of the plethora of “free” channels that include non-skippable ads ... life is FAR to precious to waste on forced advertisements ...

“So I cancelled and now I sign up for one month every year just to binge watch those shows and then cancel for another year.”

we did that for HBO streaming ... getting ready to do that for netflix ...

“I won’t pay for a streaming service that has ads. No way. That’s why I dropped Hulu years ago. At first they only had one ad every half hour. But over time they got as bad a TV. Why pay to see ads? I won’t.”

totally ... life is too precious to waste on watching/waiting for non-skippable ads ... even on so-called “free” channels ...
