I recently found out that there are residential homes located on Disney property. My understanding is that only certain people are allowed to purchase and live in those homes.

Since most Disney execs are white males I'm thinking those restrictions will have to go.

It would be hilarious if some of the Disney properties were purchased by rightwingers who became a thorn in the side of Disney.

No. Scattersite Section-8 housing is the way to go, with a number of multi-family low-income dwellings mandated as well.

Those are so Disney can claim that “all the voters in this district said this was okay”.

I posted this to another thread, but it applies to this entire incident:

“Setting that aside, this needed doing for one reason alone, if nothing else.

The Reedy Creek deal allows Disney to have their own private police, fire and EMS. Plus their own municipal court and jail.

Think about that. They can arrest you, charge you and put you in jail for offending the company if they want and your attorney will have to appeal (thus spending a bunch more money and time) to get your case out of the Disney empire.

They also don’t have to answer to anyone but the company if they choose to *not* serve someone, or if they refuse to prosecute a case. They don’t even have to meet state minimums for fire/EMS coverage other than having ‘some’ - which has been shown to not be enough as several people have died in Disneyworld due to insufficient coverage.”
