but I do wonder about metal fatigue on the rifle.>>>>>>>>>>>>
Yes, I have wondered how the breach of the barrell can handle the over pressure when it sees the continuous use for many hours in battle.I do feel that there may be some breach problems of full seating when the weapon gets really hot, and perhaps cooked off rounds, and stovepiping. Its the rare rifle candidate that does not do that in extremis. I bet that barrel gets so really hot, thius the shroud.
My feeling is thatthis is a meetro sexual rifle, Its all about looks, target range , and status without the test of battle conditions.
As you can see , I am quite skeptical. We need our sons and daughters armed with the best and I suspect this is not it.
A couple of years ago, SIG released the specs. Early reviews had it as unpleasant to shoot.
It feels like they are trying to make a short barreled carbine with capabilities of a long rifle. That means high pressure.
What will the blow back be like? Fouling?
Seems like we are going full circle back to a battle rifle when our average soldier is less able to control it
