Some men produce more boys, some produce more girls. This is fairly new science, so it’s not 50/50 as would seem obvious. Girls are great to raise, so what if you have a bunch of boys or girls, the world is big enough for us to love all the kids.
My grandparents had 4 boys and 3 girls on my mom’s side and 5 boys and 5 girls on my dad’s side. My dad had 3 girls and 7 boys, the last 6 being boys.
I suspect that some of it is also the woman’s body.
It could be that hormonally, her body tends to carry either boys or girls better, so she may be miscarrying the others and not even knowing it.
It’s just a theory of mine but based on seeing some families that are all or very heavily one sex over the other.
Because statistically you’d kind of expect an even split.
Until high school. Then it's a challenge.

But, one will rarely ever hear anyone complain about having only boys. I mean from the mother, too.
With boys you only have to worry about one penis. With girls you have to worry about them ALL.
Or so it went with many of my classmates...
