Shufrych was re-elected, placed 7th on the party list of Opposition Platform — For Life this time, in the 2019 Ukrainian parliamentary election.[10]
On 18 February 2022, during a panel show, Shufrych was physically assaulted and put into a headlock by journalist Yuriy Butusov [uk], after he refused to condemn Vladimir Putin’s actions in Donbass and Crimea.[11] This brawl was on live television and was broadcast all around the world.
On the 4 March 2022, Shufrych was arrested for allegedly providing the invading Russian military with locations and other intel about the defending Ukrainian army during the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine
