Pit bull/boxer mix. Both were large and grossly unsocialized, I’ll wager. Utterly untrainable, which was why they ended up in a rescue situation. People that give away or sell pups at 5-6 weeks are setting the dogs up for this kind of crap. Doesn’t matter with ankle-biters, so much, but a 60 pound dog can be formidable, and multiple dogs can be a nightmare.

As an EMT, I cared for a woman who had been attacked by a German Shepherd she had just adopted. She was a strong young woman who managed to throw it off and shut it in a room, but she said it went straight for her throat- she had bites on collarbone, arms, stomach, face, buttocks.

Thank God she had decided to work with it first at a stable rather than at home with her two small children. But she kept shouting for the cops to shoot it, just shoot it, even though it was locked in. That dog was euthanized, I am sure.

A 60 pound dog of any breed is a serious threat to any unarmed human.

Two dogs of the same weight against one unarmed human and that person is in serious trouble.
