Just my $0.02, but a officers of the court, attorneys are part of the judicial branch and it’s a conflict of interest for them to serve as legislators. I think an attorney should have to resign from the bar and surrender any financial ties to any law practice before serving as a legislator.

In reality they are typically a bunch of paper filers.

They have to get the title of judge to be part of the judiciary.

I’ve filed legal papers, but was never part of the judiciary.

The problem is the lawyers have made statutory and regulatory law so complex it takes a lawyer experienced in the branch of law to deal with the lawyers’ handiwork.
