Bizarre video of Ukrainian 'tank girl'. I wonder how many books will be written about the role of social media in this conflict. I am also curious if and how social media influences the dynamics of this war. Future military historians have their work cut out for them.

maybe not. But it is certainly not the first time women have driven tanks. By the end of WW II about 25% of Soviet tanks had at least one-woman crew member. Usually, she had been trained as the tank mechanic. Soviet records show that women also commanded Soviet tanks. In at least once, a women commanded a full battalion of lend lease Sherman tanks.

The English called their tanks with 'just' machine guns "female" and they called the ones with cannon "male."
