Leftist cancel culture is being driven by the emotionally deranged agenda of teenage girls.
It is not often that two contrasting mainstream media events reveal so completely the nature of the deep dysfunction of modern culture. Yet that is precisely what happened last month.
Those two events are as follows: First, contrarian Substack writer and known anti-woke crusader Andrew Sullivan appeared on Jon Stewart’s new show, “The Problem With Jon Stewart.” I do not think I am being uncharitable when I call the appearance a disaster. Which, to be fair, is not entirely Sullivan’s fault, seeing as he was thrust into what was effectively a three-on-one fight (more like a dozens-on-one fight, if you include the studio audience). He was the lone dissenter against a pack of braying fanatics, egged on by a motley trio consisting of a grifter and two useful idiots, one of whom is the most famed enforcer of liberal dogma from decades past.

There is a very simple reason for this: Andrew Sullivan never had a Tumblr account. Taylor Lorenz does, and according to her, it was at least partially responsible for her choice to enter journalism as a profession. As someone who has written about Tumblr at length, especially (and infamously) the “Glee” fandom, this is the equivalent of the Bat-Signal, given my belief that Tumblr is responsible not just for wokeness, but for its entire melodramatic, maudlin, adolescent girl aesthetic and style of communication.
In this case, however, I do not want to rely on my own writing as evidence. Rather, I want to rely on the work of a young writer named Helena Kerschner who has explained Tumblr from firsthand knowledge in a way that I despair of equaling: (below)

A major aspect of Tumblr culture has always been social justice ideology. Things that are now being played out and witnessed by the general public on platforms like Twitter and TikTok, like dissociative identity disorder LARPers, demisexuals, neopronouns, otherkin, and everything you see on @LibsOfTikTok, have long existed in an uncannily identical form on tumblr.com. The oppression hierarchy of racial and gender identities now being written into law in many of our once serious nations was the state religion of the People’s Republic of Tumblr long before your political junkie uncle knew the term ‘CRT.’ As cultish religions tend to operate, open devotion to the religion is mandatory. Perhaps the outsiders most likely to understand the way social dynamics worked on that website would be survivors of Scientology or the Jehovah’s Witnesses. On Tumblr, the situation was such that any claim to being ‘oppressed’ would accumulate social credibility, while any unfortunate ‘privileged’ status was justification for verbal abuse. As a ‘privileged’ person, you were expected to constantly grovel and apologize, you had no right to speak on any issue involving the group you were ‘oppressing’, and you could not object in any way to any mistreatment hurled against you because of your race, gender, or sexuality.
I found myself in a bit of a double bind. On one hand, I had found what felt like the perfect group of friends who understood me on an intuitive level, who I was able to talk to openly about the things I liked and made me ‘weird’ in real life, but on the other hand I was a ‘cishet white girl’ in an environment where that was one of the worst things to be. Since Tumblr users are mostly biological females, the ‘cishet white girl’ holds the position of most privileged and therefore most inherently bad group. In this climate, you are made to feel guilty and responsible for all the horrors and atrocities in the world. No hardship you could possibly go through could ever be as bad as the prejudice and genocide POC and LGBT people face every. Single. Day. Insert clap emoji. LGBT people and POC can’t even walk out of their houses without being murdered by cishet white people just like you!".
The woke seem to be living in a false reality. I don’t know if it is caused from on-line activities.

I mostly agree with your notion. We have been privileged to live relatively pampered lives since the end of WW2, and Korean War. God bless the veterans of Vietnam and Iraq.
The youngn’s of today are bewitched by their input devices, such that it crowds out other real life nature experiences and lessons.
One of the most memorable work experiences of my life had nothing to do with wokeness. Back in the 90s, I worked in an office tower in Boston. I was on an elevator going up quite a few stories. Two guys got on. I didn't know them, didn't know their work (probably lawyers). I didn't hear much of their conversation at all (they got off in just a few stops). But what I heard went like this:
"Do you know what she did then?? She came into my office -- and she was crying!"
"Really?"
"I said -- Maybe that worked at your last job. Doesn't work here, honey. Get out and pull yourself together and be a professional."
And then they exited the elevator.
Crying makes you a loser as an adult.
I read the whole damned article. I’m glad I did and wish I hadn’t.
It was an education to me.
And it feels strange to get an education and know less than when you were uneducated.
I feel like Alice did when she went into the rabbit hole, a separate reality.
But I’ll get over it because I am a white male who believes in God.

This article is painful to read, but does contribute to understanding how a once great country like ours is swirling around the toilet bowl. There seems to be no end to the mentally deficient and crazed goofballs out there.
The bottom line...

I’m afraid it’s going to take more than just voting to fix the problem. May require an actual can of mace rather than just an electoral can of mace.

Actually Christians are probably the most vulnerable to this type of manipulation, which is based on being kind to the poor the less fortunate, the oppressed... which is what wokeism is all about - dividing the world into oppressors and oppressed and then demonizing the “oppressors” and sanctifying the “oppressed”.
You can tell that that’s the case by the speed at which Christian denominations are becoming woke - chief among them the catholic church.
Wokeness is top down cram down by a handful of billionaires that control major media and Big Tech.
I seriously have a hard time telling whether we’re winning or losing, or whether it’s even worth fighting anymore. I’m an old man with no kids. I probably won’t ever find out how this ends. I think we’re definitely unappreciated for everything we’ve ever done to help this country. Screw ‘em. Might as well just ignore it and try to enjoy myself.

Seems like this article talked a lot more about Tumblr than “woke” whatever that is. (Yes, I see the term “woke” constantly but not sure from whence the term is derived.)
From the article, it sounds like this Tumblr is a cult for dykes.

I don't know. Maybe it is a grandfather pondering how society turned to pure crap in just two generations.
