One Uke can beat ten Russkies in a battle—The Ukrainians are supermen—a magnificent warrior class who can beat anything Russia can toss at them. Russians have proven themselves to be whimps—I am curious how they won in Syria? Why are we afraid of them? I bet their Rockets can not work ad their nukes all duds. Their whole navy no match for Uke coastal rockets. Their airplanes—even if old, can fly circle around the Russian air force. Ukraine can fight for freedom for one hundred years. Maybe we should give them our whole fleet of F-22 and a wing of B-2s—to flatten Moscow. and end the Russian menace forever. Then they can take out Hungary too and Serbia. Then Ukraine can take on China. No stopping these heroes!
At the moment the Ukrainians substantially outnumber the Russians, or at least those Russians deployable in Ukraine.
Until such a time as the Russians are willing to treat this as a total war and mobilize all their reservists, that will not change.
That may or may not allow the Ukrainians to go on the offensive and reclaim their lost territories. Western military aid helps to that end, also the relative obsolescence of Russian materiel and the so far poor standard of operational ability the Russians have displayed.
At the moment the war is quite even in terms of balance of forces, notwithstanding the Russian Air Force, which is also performing poorly, given its (on paper) overwhelming numbers. Its up to the Russians to decide whether they are sufficiently politically committed to go to the next level.
I would suggest reading about the 1850s crimean war by Orlando Figes. It explains why in 2022 Russia was held back by Ukraine.
In the 1700s and 1800s the Russian army was huge. But their normal choice of enemy was the khanates in the south and east. The Russians were a bit more advanced. But when the Russians met a western foe, they lost.
The same here today.
This is partly Ukrainians playing smart, partly Ukrainians playing on their home turf but mainly a case of severe Russian incompetence
