As part of my duties working for a Fire Department, I was sometimes required to work at fire dispatch, so I have some understanding of the frustration involved dealing with the public. But a couple of weeks ago I called in to report a crime in progress and the dispatcher became extremely rude to me and claimed that I was not answering her questions. I was answering all of her questions calmly, thoroughly and completely. She was just not a good listener and was trying to add her own details that were not actually taking place and had no relevance. When I contradicted her preconceived notions, she became angry. It was almost comical, but there are many people who should not be dispatchers or police officers.

That said, certain individuals definitely escalate situations in weird and not so wonderful ways when they call to complain about others.

Demand the recording of that conversation be provided to you and/or made public. Prepare a transcript of said conversation (redacting, as you feel necessary to protect your identity), and post it here at Free Republic.
