Few areas are more beautiful than western NY. In the spring, summer, and fall. Even winter, sometimes.
“Few areas are more beautiful than western NY.”
That’s one reason we retired in eastern TN. We visited about 15 years ago, were driving along, and Hubby asked, “Do you know what this looks like?” Me: “It looks exactly like we’re driving around the farm.” NY
The landscape is the same. The people are the same — salt of the earth. We have four seasons in TN, although fall is much prettier in NY. I think it’s the sugar maples. Allegany Mountains ... gorgeous!
When we go back to visit, we see as many Confederate flags as we do in TN. A sign of independence (nothing to do with slavery as some say).
What we DONT have in TN is NY taxes.
Except the Southern Tier of Upstate NY, along the Southern Tier Expressway, through Corning etc.
It’s breathtaking even in the summer.
And speaking of Corning, the Corning Museum of Glass is right off the interstate and worth the stop.
