400 years ago, an alien landed in Joseon era Korea. He became the protector of a 15 year old widow who was going to be killed by her family as a supposed suicide to win an award as a virtuous family but, in the end, he is unable to save her. In modern times, the alien sees a girl in danger who looks like the young widow and does save her. Years later he re-discovers the saved girl, now a famous actress, and falls in love with her.
Great song, by a great group. 👍
I’ve wanted to work with this song for years, but it was so detailed I just couldn’t find a show or drama that worked with the story. Took a good bit of twisting but I’m really pleased to finally get it done.
I’ve been looking for some fresh music to listen to and I’d forgotten how much I enjoyed CSN DeJa’Vu, not the best of crap but the whole album. It’s been 30 years since I had it on heavy rotation. Good memories from that era.
thanks for this post
I saw them in concert, Seattle - June 1970. Just graduated high school a week before - great show for sure. An acoustic set first, then a break and they fired up the electric stuff. A fond memory.
I don’t know why the Koreans are doing such a great job in writing dramatic stories for TV and film, but I think their film products are seen more on other Asian nation’s venues than the other way around. They even have a good following here in the U.S.
Their culture seems to still be decades behind ours. They’re just barely moving out of the high morality culture into one influenced by Hollywood. When they go all the way, if they do, I’ll be stuck with nowhere to watch good shows. But, for now, I’m incredibly impressed with the quality of screenplay writing and the directors of photography. There’s art underlying everything they do. As a former scientist, I LOVE that plots take an audience’s interest in scientific characters for granted. As a former screenplay writer, I’m amazed by the originality of the way they approach common tropes.
Two things bother me. One is that horrendous human beings who act with cruelty throughout can be forgiven in the end, as though their characters really changed. The second is that endings frequently feel rushed. I really don’t understand the way Korean and Chinese dramas are segmented, and wonder if they’re shortened or lengthened based on ongoing audience response.
I’ve only seen Neil Young in concert. When he’s in the group, the songs aren’t approved for YouTube, which is such a shame because the larger group did such great music.
😂
Agreed. Great album.
I have one song done to the music but it’s only available streaming from my website. It’s one of my very favorite music videos so it breaks my heart I can’t put it elsewhere.

Because of your music video, watched the show, My Love from the Star, the Amazon Version.. actually binge watched it.
Loved it. Will check out more Korean shows now. Thanks.
I especially loved the lawyer acting as the alien’s father. I like a show that’s filled with good people.
LoL, those Moms were so catty. Wanted to smack them. I also binge watched the original version of 21 episodes. I was so dead after that.
Also. Subscribed to your channel. Count me impressed.
😉
You’re extremely kind. My deepest thanks.
An early ping.

“My Love from the Star” is the story of an alien come to earth 400 years before. He has the ability to teleport, travel at breathtaking speed, use superhuman strength, as well as stop time - all useful qualities when you’re courting an earth girl.
