Officials say the felines repopulated during the COVID-19 pandemic. Animal health clinics encourage residents to participate in trap-neuter-return programs to combat rising cat populations. Gatherings of cats are also known as cat colonies – like the ones in Oakland. They are made up of two or more feral cats in the wild.
PetFix is a program that provides residents’ pets free or low-cost spay and neuter services. Officials say spaying and neutering pets prevents overpopulation and animal euthanasia. Kaplan recommended locals to look into their offers.
“It is neither responsible nor humane for people to adopt pets that they are not prepared to care for and keep,”
[R]esidents are reporting little to no rodents since employees have been back to the stadium. It is believed cat colonies help combat pest infestation, like mice and rats.

How right you are. About 6 months after my daughter’s first cat died, she went back to PAWS to pick out a new one. She had her heart set on another Calico that was a guest there at the time. As she was going to get acquainted with the Calico, another kitten caught her attention by reaching out and pawing my daughter’s shoulder as if to say “please pick me”. A cute little 6 month old orange tabby instantly charmed her. She went home with us that very day, and that is our little Coco, now Seven.

Feeding a stray cat is about like feeding the homeless. feed them once and you have a lot more.
Have a small problem where I live but unfortunately the last time I've set out my live traps all I've caught were skunks.

We had some rats around our backyard chicken coop. Then three gay guys and their 9 cats moved in next door. Problem solved.
