Couldn't say. We moved from Montana to Vandenberg AFB in CA.
There we had the Santa Anas. Same type weather system except they blew hot instead of cold. It seems the air force made strong winds a criteria for locating missile bases..

April 1990 we had at least 18 or more inches of snow fall in one day up at Grand Forks. Had a mishap with a vehicle that got stuck out in the Minuteman missile field so I had to fly out to the site in a HH-1H chopper. The snow and surroundings were so bad from the previous day’s weather I had to have the pilot hover a couple feet above a farm field and I jumped out. Landed in snow over my knees.
