The coal fired power plants we do have are so retrofitted and smogged down to a fraction of their true capacity. We're paying a BIG price for very little emission difference.

“...USA has 15...”

Tell your friend Leo to quit sending you B.S.

The US has 241 coal fired powered plants...

Here is the list:

Yes, misinformation like this doesn’t help. But the basic fact is correct.

Top 3 countries by coal emissions:
1) China - 7.421 tons
2) India - 1,588 tons
3) USA - 889 tons

USA could halve its emissions, and the effect would be a rounding error compared to China’s.

Best way to save the planet: bring manufacturing back to the USA where our operations are much more energy efficient.

“Coal generated 23% of United States electricity in 2021,...”

How many new plants?

I assume you have a special trusted source, but if that’s just Alphabet, then better for you to go there than me.

There you go again referring to actual facts rather than the commandments of the climate change religion.

We should be building them like crazy. We have lots of coal. Good mining jobs, cheap power. The economy would be much better off. Mexico should line the boarder with coal power plants and sell electricity back to the stupid Americans charging their coal powered cars.

US has way more Coal Fired Electrical Power plants.

I live 6mi from one, as the crow flies. Owned by TECO (Tampa Electric Company)

The Big Bend power station has a cool Manatee Viewing Center, it uses water from Tampa Bay to cool the generators and the warmer water from the exchange, the manatees have figured it out.

Its free to visit and worth it if you are in the Tampa area.
