Definitely pastrami piled high on nice soft rye bread. It must come from a good Jewish deli. I’m also partial to chopped chicken liver sandwiches and a good thick grilled cheese.
Monte Cristo and #2 BLT loaded with crisp bacon!
What the hell is a “sub”?
Anyone that has had a Cuban (Tampa style) will rate it Number 1!
So, a hamburger or cheeseburger is not considered a sandwich?
CheezWhiz--ugh! You're going to the wrong cheesesteak place. Go to one that uses provolone.
It's a submarine sandwich, named for the shape of the bread:
Any fillings you put on it, still a sub sandwich—as distinct from a Kaiser roll or rye bread or white toast sandwich.
Turkey sub, meatball sub, tuna sub, etc.
12 baby, wid whiz!!!!
When really hungry, my favorite is the one I can get to first.
How about a grilled pimento cheese sandwich with homemade pimento cheese?
If it’s summer and I’ve got homegrown tomatoes, then it’s time for a tomato sandwich on white bread with lots of mayo, salted and peppered.
Chopped BBQ (pork, of course) with BBQ slaw.
But I wouldn’t turn down anything on the list unless it’s a banana sandwich. I don’t eat banana anything, whether sandwich, banana split, banana pudding, banana split cake, etc. Yes, I’ll eat no bananas.
Peach
What??? No Pastrami???
My mouth is watering! So many great ones on this list!
My #1 is Dino’s Subs’ hot pastrami and provolone. All the veg and seasonings with vinegar and oil. Arlington, Texas, for 40 years. I’ve not changed my order in all that time. I’m getting hungry just thinking about one.
What! No Pastrami?
40 sandwiches and the closest they get to a burger is a patty melt
Grinder you mean.
I like many on the list. I rate a restaurant on its Reuben.
Or Hero
No muffuletta sandwich? No Shrimp Poor Boy? No Texas sliced Brisket? The list is sorely lacking!
If I have one sandwich to eat...I'm going with the El Toro (sliced tri-tip) at Phil's in San Diego.
“#4 should be last, what kind of a rankings is this anyway”
As much as I would love to try a Banh Mi, 80% of the country has never heard of it, so yes I call BS on this poll. No. 1 is suspect as well as Thanksgiving. Many more......
