It’s doubtful that even the committee members believe what they’re saying.
The January 6th committee is making news again:
The leaders of the House committee investigating the Capitol attack have grown divided over whether to make a criminal referral to the Justice Department of former President Donald Trump, even though they have concluded that they have enough evidence to do so, people involved in the discussions said.
The debate centers on whether making a referral — a largely symbolic act — would backfire by politically tainting the Justice Department’s expanding investigation into the Jan. 6 assault and what led up to it.
Politically tainting the effort? It’s been a political effort from day one!
On another front, Representative Lynn Cheney told CNN:
“We have not made a decision about referrals on the committee,” Cheney said on CNN’s “State of the Union” on Sunday.
“I think that it is absolutely the case, it’s absolutely clear, that what President Trump was doing, what a number of people around him were doing, that they knew it was unlawful. They did it anyway.”
My message to the committee is to stop talking on MSNBC or CNN. Please refer the case to the DOJ if you got something or stop talking.

The purpose of the “committee” is to be a platform to attack conservatives. They will continue, without finding anything of substance, until the elections force them off their platform.

I think Trump’s endorsement of Dr. Oz may have opened up the door for DeSantis...so the Jan 6th s-show in Congress is just sucking up media copy that could be used to take down DeSantis instead.
Trump’s endorsement of Oz is a big nothing burger that is being used by people on the fence about Trump to divide support from him to get a Pence some traction in the GOP primaries. It isn’t going to work.
It’s BS. Now what Trump did was pressure. He held a rally that day to pressure legislature and pence to do the right thing. Everyone in that building was IMO completing what they started. They all knew there was enough evidence to look at the ballots in that state and do some signature verification and canvas work. Not recount the same ballots. Look at them. To many affidavits from people there. They knew something was wrong and it will likely be looked at later.
It seemed what happened on Jan 6 was a mixture of antifa and BLM and maybe FBI agents mixed with some right wing that were angry. And both sides have some that are extreme. To me them doing this is going to blow up in there faces if the midterm comes out a Republican sweep. Trump did nothing wrong. He knows if the ballots are looked at they will find fraud. But having judges not taking the cases stalled the process. The audit in AZ was tainted. The numbers matched up of course but page 2 shows a lot of duplicate votes that if counted would swing the state. Thousands of ballots missing parts or no signature or enough of one to be counted. But it could have showed what ever it wanted and nothing else would be done. When there was no chain of custody we knew there was a problem. Nobody wanted there name connected with it. I think Wisconsin should have turned by now. The media won’t report it so it won’t matter.
Screw Pence but I agree it will be used by NeverTrumpers. I simply see Pence as credible, unless both Trump or DeSantis are gone.
As far as Oz, people here were warning about him, many times, so it is significant to us that Trump still endorsed him.
I do know with Trump, we wouldn’t be seeing the energy policy fallout in economic damage. He’s never owned up to his strategic errors in 2020.
As for Jan 6th, unless they were coordinating the overrun of the Capitol from the White House or preventing a law enforcement response, this is all about political theater. Jan 6th was an unforced error. He fell into Pelosi’s trap. The damage done to the country isn’t about an “attack” on democracy, it’s that the house speaker deliberately avoided proper measures to create a political Gulf of Tonkin. She should be held accountable the next Republican house majority.

A number of people think that Nov 2022 will be the beginning of a turnaround but I don’t buy that. The communists will not simply give up and flex with the will of the voters. They didn’t in 2020 and there is no reason to believe that the efforts that corruption to stay in power will not continue....

Do Democrats honestly believe with all the real problems Americans are facing that their Jan 6 kabuki theatre is going to save them from the coming congressional bloodbath they are facing come November? It is like waving a red flag in front of voters who are concerned about inflation, energy prices, crime, supply chain woes, etc and announcing they don’t give a damn about their problems. The only folks interested in Jan 6 are their media allies and the most partisan Democrats. They will get no additional votes from it.Enjoy the purge come November
