I’ll look that up. I know a couple that used a 55 gallon drum as one under their cabin once but I never knew how they did it.
Humanure is a great book. We used their method. We used a five gallon bucket (actually a few of them), put a toilet seat on it, put the leaf mold/sawdust/etc on the bottom with a bucket of the leaf mold/etc for use. Deposit, cover with a scoop of the leaf mold, put lid on bucket. Worked like a charm. DH would put the buckets outside and in a few days dump them in a pile and cover each bucket full with dirt. In a short amount of time it all turned into fine compost, nothing wrong or icky. We didn’t use on the garden but we don’t have any diseases.
