I have been thinking about Thoreau on this day. Shot heard round the world stuff. I have not been to Concord in a few years though it is not that far. (I am literally a Boston Boy, not one of those Suburbans who claim to be of Boston.) Concord is a long way from where I grew up. Gotta be 10-20 miles. I enjoyed Thoreau’s work regarding his water trip on the Concord and Merrimack Rivers. His English prose was simply so delightful. Gosh that seems forever ago since I read it.
It truly is a beautiful area. The Colonial Inn at Concord Center is a fine place to dine, very quaint and, well Colonial. Clearly, Conglomerates have confiscated the term ‘Concord Inn’ but the real center of town there is quite nice, not at all like some Holiday Inn joint.
My early years were spent in southern New England, rural, and in the olden days... To me the countryside there is the most beautiful. So many farms... small dairies, etc.
Green. And the history. If elections were clean, how would it look politically? Possibly quite different.

Those who claimed to represent us gave us false hope, made false promises.
The evil and corruption only grew.
