Because the VP is the President of the Senate - I’ve always seen the VP as being the “go between” person between Congress and the Executive Branch.
Yes sir, but in primacy the Selection business might be discretionary to the president, and a *replacement would take up the VP designation as the president’s communicator to & from Congress, and for “breaking a tie vote” in the Senate, right?
