The discovery came a week after the doctor, a 26-year-old cardiothoracic surgery fellow at the University of Wisconsin, set off alone on a hike through the area, which features trails and a towering waterfall, surrounded by steep clay banks.

I hike alone whenever I like, but I'm large.
Well if you did what she did, being large would have caused the same thing to happen.
But you also may not have decided to do what she did...
Yes. I know better.
I hiked falls a couple of winters ago that were glare ice, including the surrounding terrain.
That'll get you dead or busted up real good.
Elk in the rut . . . aren’t to be screwed with . . . .Mother Nature can be a beotch.
Your Uncle sounds like my type of guy (I am assuming all the Yellowstone posts are yours without looking back).
Yellowstone is lovely.
The only “good news” is that everyone assumed she had been murdered.
Or the jab.

The important thing is to look for Rocket J. Squirrel.
Then you’ll be OK.
😜
Seriously, I wouldn’t want to tangle with a moose either.
Hiking alone is not a good idea period.
Arent you supposed to say this is fake news, given that the story is carried by the Daily Mail?
“Seriously, I wouldn’t want to tangle with a moose either”

I hiked alone for years, even backpacking.
But, you have to understand the natural world, the rules of mother nature. Leave a notice of your planned trail with someone and expected arrival time back. Even if it is just a day hike.

Me too, except silver lab. Some trails you're really not alone, you may be hiking alone but you see people all day. Other trails are remote. I saw 5 other hikers in 120 miles of the CDT. Sometimes I went for days without seeing anyone else. I also carry a Garmin Inreach and have a hiking plan which I communicate daily. If I go off trail or deviate from the plan I communicate that to home.

It depends. Is it about a hot button political issue/story? Then yes, you should be highly skeptical.
If its about a run of the mill human interest story like this in which there is no political angle, then there’s no reason to question the motive for reporting it.
Book smart. No common sense. Basically a dumbass who causes more harm with her voting habits than good with her medical degree.
Yea
I see a lot of downtrodden blacks in rural Wis.
These people need to live in the ghetto for a few years.
They may realize all lives matter.
